Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with lowercase letters, such in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 and received great reviews from music blogs as well as the press. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that are widely loved. Her name was also recognized via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. It was awe-inspiring to see the possibilities it offered. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to play music only for fun or to aid in development but instead, she should take it seriously. She started writing songs of her own. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her love of Bjork's style. Responding to her mother's suggestions that people should not be aiming at achieving fame through the songs she writes, but rather be aware of the significance of them as well as their contribution to society. She was suggested by her mother to perform her songs publicly to help people realize their own importance and how they can affect the world. Her family didn't know until the age of 14. Aurora never dreamed of being famous. The singer claims she is a fan of composing songs. She believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
